J.M. Trivedi is new chief of Actis India

New Delhi March 28 Mr Donald Peck, who built private equity firm Actis' business in India, will assume new responsibilities across Actis worldwide in the second quarter of this year. Mr J.M. Trivedi, Actis Partner in Mumbai, will succeed Mr Peck and run Actis' Indian operations.

Mr Peck has been spearheading Actis' investments in India since 1995. He will play a key role in developing Actis' global strategy and governance bodies.

Mr Peck will continue to provide guidance to the Indian team, acting as the Chairman of Actis Advisers Pvt Ltd, the Indian advisory company, and will remain on the boards of Indian investee companies, as well as the Actis Investment Committees.

Taking charge of Actis in India at this crucial juncture, with the private equity industry growing at a rapid pace, Mr J.M. Trivedi said, "Donald has set a high benchmark for Actis' activities across India. We have made a number of successful investments and delivered superior returns to our investors."

Mr Trivedi joined Actis in 1997 to establish Actis' Mumbai office and has led many successful deals for Actis, including UTI Bank, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Jyothy Laboratories and more recently led the investment in Paras Pharmaceuticals and Sterling Hospitals.
