Awards & Honours Web Extras - Tea Glendale bags Golden Leaf Award L.N. Revathy
Coimbatore March 30 Glendale Estate in the Nilgiris has for the second year in a row bagged the "Golden Leaf Award" for its `SFTGFOP' (Super-Fine Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) grade of teas. The Estate had in the first ever auction held at Las Vegas in March last offloaded its teas for a record price of $600/kg. This year at the Golden Leaf Award competition held in Kochi recently, Glendale once again emerged a winner.
Located at an altitude of 1,000 and 2,600 metres above mean sea level, the Estate produces grades such as Orange Pekoe, Flowery Orange Pekoe (FOP), Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe (FBOP), BOP, BOPF, BOPD and premium grades like Silver Tips, SFTGFOP and Glendale Frost Teas.
The company has plans to showcase the award winning grade at the Atlanta Tea Expo in June.
