V.N. Kaila takes over as CGA

New Delhi, April 1

Mr V.N. Kaila on Sunday took over as the new Controller General of Accounts (CGA). He succeeds Mr S.W. Oak, who demitted office of CGA on superannuation.

Prior to his taking over as CGA, Mr Kaila, who belongs to the 1971 batch of Indian Civil Accounts Service, was holding the post of Principal Chief Controller of Accounts, CBEC. Mr Kaila had also earlier served as an Advisor to the Finance Ministries of the Governments of Lesotho and Peoples' Democratic Republic of Laos. The Controller General of Accounts is the principal Accounts Advisor to the Government of India. He is responsible for establishing and maintaining a technically sound management accounting system.
