C'wealth meet brings biz worth $5.8 m

Kochi April 1 The sixth Commonwealth India Small Business Competitiveness Development Programme (CISBCDP) held in Kochi, Alappuzha and Kalady during March-end culminated in various trade proposals and promises worth $5.8 million, according to Kalady Rice Millers Consortium Pvt Ltd.

The consortium, which also represents the Kerala Federation of Industrial Cluster, had organised an exhibition of various industrial products at Kalady as part of the programme.

EXHIBITS

Besides, rice mill machinery, agro processing and agriculture machineries, electric pumps and cable textiles, handicrafts, and ayurvedic medicines were also exhibited.

Representatives from Mauritius, Nigeria, Malawi, Kenya, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Jamaica, Pakistan, Tanzania, Swaziland and Uganda participated in the discussions with the exhibitors.

PARTICIPANTS

They included V.M. Industries, Mumbai; Meena Food Products, Kozhikode; Meat Products of India, Vazhakulam; SARK Cables, Print n Finish equipments, Thiruvananthapuram; Orange Machines, Coimbatore; Akash Pumps, Nagarjuna, Kalady; Millmore Engineering, Chennai; Industrial Boilers, Delhi; SNA Ayurvedic Products, Thrissur; Mahila Apparels Pvt Ltd, Angamaly; KAMCO machineries, Athani; Pavizham Healthier Diet Pvt Ltd, Koovappady and Coir Board, Alappuzha.

The participants expressed the hope that all the trade proposals and promises would be translated into reality soon.
