Implementation of quota system

Mangalore April 2 The heads of institutes of higher education are not opposed to the roadmap prepared by the Oversight Committee on the implementation of reservation in their institutes, according to Mr M. Veerappa Moily, Chairman of the Oversight Committee.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Mr Moily said that he had met the heads of the institutes while preparing the roadmap on the implementation of quota system in the institutes of higher education.

"Initially they were not ready to implement 27 per cent quota system. When we convinced them with the roadmap, they agreed to implement it. Today there is no opposition from them," he said.

The Oversight Committee worked on the theme of `expansion, inclusion and excellence' in higher education.

The Oversight Committee came out with a three-year roadmap on the implementation of quota system in the institutes of higher education
