Opinion - Letters
Govt staff housing

This refers to "PSU employees irked by tax on company housing" (Business Line, March 31). It is a good and bold decision taken by the Ministry of Finance. Central and State Government employees provided with accommodation, must also be so taxed.

In India more than 85 per cent of the people do not have proper shelter or pay a stiff price for it, but government and PSU staff enjoy housing, electricity, water etc., at no or low cost. This anomaly must be corrected.
