Delhi Metro to help Jakarta Metro project

Our Bureau

New Delhi April 3 The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), with Japan-based Nippon Koei and US-based Mc Enzie (USA), would conduct a study to assist the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit System in Indonesia. This is the first international consultancy assignment bagged by Delhi Metro, said a DMRC release.

The study will involve the preparation of the detailed management plans, operating system, staff deployment and establishment of organisational and financial procedures apart from maintenance strategies and procedures to be adopted once the MRT System is running.

The DMRC earned Rs 6.5 crore from consultancy studies in the last financial year.

Countries like Pakistan, Ireland, Syria, Sri Lanka and Vietnam have interacted with DMRC officials for metro systems in their countries and operating systems.

In India, the DMRC has prepared detailed project reports for metro rail systems in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata (East-West Line), Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Chennai.

It has also been asked to prepare reports for high-speed metro links from the new airports at Hyderabad and Bangalore to the city centres.
