Goldstone Tele eyes value-added products

Hyderabad April 3 Goldstone Teleservices Ltd, a manufacturer of composite insulators, telecom cables and accessories, is planning to manufacture value added products required in power sector for conservation of energy, even as their insulator business has grown during 2006-2007.

The company said that their insulator business has grown from Rs 2.96 crore in 2004-2005 to Rs 12.23 crore in 2005-2006 and Rs 25.23 crore in 2005-2006.

According to a statement from the Executive Vice-President of Goldstone Teleservices, Mr M. Surender Nath, the company has bagged export order from Kenya for supply of 11kv and 33 kv composite insulators and expects to freeze some more orders in 2007-2008.

In a statement, the company said preliminary market studies in West Asia, especially United Arab Emirates, indicates that there is vast potential for composite insulators and this could be in the range of about 15 to 18 million insulators per annum, which includes a large replacement market.

The company said Goldstone had developed a corrosive protective heat shrinkable sleeves used in oil and gas pipe lines. Certified by DVGW Lab, Germany, these pipes have high application in oil and gas pipelines, which could contribute about Rs 8 crore during this year.

The company official said that the company was aiming at a turnover of Rs 62 crore during 2007-2008 and this stems from the order book of Rs 45 crore for the current fiscal.
