Our Bureau

Guntur, March 4

The Chennai-based Murugappa Group — with three fertiliser plants — is planning to increase the output from the current 2.7 million tonnes to 3.3 million tonnes by June 2009, according to Mr A. Vellayan, Chairman.

He was talking to reporters on Wednesday at Sattenapalli in Guntur district after inaugurating a retail outlet of the company there. He said the group had invested Rs 70 crore for a 15 per cent stake in a Tunisian company for rock phosphate and Rs 50 crore in a South African company for long-term supply of inputs.
