NMPT celebrates maritime day

Mangalore, April 5

New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) celebrated the 44th National Maritime Day on Thursday. A press release by Capt K.V. Vaswani, Deputy Conservator of NMPT and President of the National Maritime Day Celebration Committee, said here that merchant navy flag for sale was released on the occasion. Maritime Day celebrations enable the public to know more about the activities of Indian shipping industry and the role it plays in the economy of the country, it said. Mr P. Tamilvanan, Chairman of NMPT, was the chief guest on the occasion. Mr M.A. Baskarachar, Deputy Chairman, presided over the function, the release added.
