Retailing aLL looks at increasing presence Our Bureau
Hyderabad April 6 aLL (a Little Larger), an apparel store format from the Future group's stable, is planning to increase its footprint in the country to 50 from the current nine by 2010. The one-year-old format targets to achieve a turnover of Rs 100 crore by 2010. Currently, it runs outlets in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Indore and Bangalore. Each store requires an investment of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore depending on the size. "Some of these will be exclusive stores, while the others would be store-in-stores," Ms Darshana Chandarana, Category Manager of aLL, told Business Line.
`Plus-size'
The Future Group, which promoted Pantaloon, Central and Brand Factory formats, has launched the aLL concept to cater to the specific needs of the `plus-size' people those who do not find garments for their size at the regular stores. "We start at the sizes where all others stop. Our range for men starts at 44 (inches) and goes up to 54. We sell apparel in formal, casual and ethnic segments. For women, the sizes range from 38 to 48," she said. "They do want to wear comfortable, designer and fashion garments. But they find it difficult to locate in the regular stores," she added. Ms Chandarana, who was here in connection with the launch of the first stand-alone aLL, said the trousers were fitted with elastic that offered convenience for users.
