Heavy Engg mulls thermal plant in Ranchi

Kolkata April 6 Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd (HEC) is poised to set up a 60 MW captive thermal power generating unit along with a modern railway wheel and axle plant at its facilities in Ranchi by 2009-10. This is expected to further enhance HEC's bottom line.

The achievement of the corporation during 2006-07 is satisfactory as it has been facing the challenges of depleting manpower over the years.

The operating margin of the corporation was Rs 18.08 crore in 2006-07. The net cash gain is about Rs 11 crore.

The company achieved a net turnover of Rs 269 crore with a net sales of about Rs 334 crore.
