Malaysia to host IPC annual session

Kochi April 8 Malaysia will host the 35th annual session and other meetings of International Pepper Community (IPC) during October 29-November 2 in Kuala Lumpur, according to IPC sources.

The annual session and meetings will comprise the following: 13th Meeting of IPC Committee on quality; 38th meeting of pepper exporters; 32nd meeting of peppertech; 15th meeting of pepperexim; 35th executive meeting of heads of delegation; and 35th plenary session.

Participation

Officials, scientists, trade and other representatives from the IPC member countries, spice trade associations and international organisations will participate in the five-day meeting, to be organised jointly by the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities of Malaysia, Malaysian Pepper Board and the IPC, Jakarta.

The IPC Secretariat welcomes technical or trade-related papers from spice trade associations in other producing and consuming countries to be presented at the above meetings.

Participation at this year's meeting will be a unique one, as it will coincide with the Visit Malaysia Year 2007, they said.
