Education States - Tamil Nadu TN farm varsity made nodal body for e-lessons Our Bureau
Coimbatore April 8 Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has been identified as the nodal varsity by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for development of e-courses and channelise its expertise in information communication technology to other agricultural universities in the country. The ICAR has sanctioned Rs 1.6 crore under the National Agricultural Innovation Project to the TNAU and under this programme, all the State and Central agricultural universities will follow the e-lessons developed by the TNAU for B.Sc (agriculture) course through a centralised national server, according to a press release from the TNAU. The TNAU said that the ICAR has sanctioned Rs 9 crore for modernisation of education system and programmes, and this grant is meant to both channelise the TNAU's expertise in e-teachings and also strengthen the university's own academic infrastructure. The varsity will provide Internet connectivity for its students in all its campuses.
