WILTING TEA PLANTS at a plantation near Marayoor in Idukki district. Lack of summer rains in the area is posing a threat to tea gardens in High Ranges. To arrest the damage, planters sprinkle water mixed with `Kaolin', a powdery chemical, to protect the leaves from sunlight.
