ETC sets up design centre in Hyderabad

Hyderabad April 9 The United Arab Emirates-based Emirates Techno Casting FZE (ETC) opened its India design centre here and plans to take up engineering services outsourcing on a large scale.

It also plans to invest Rs 150 crore in India over the next three years.

"Our design centre here will act as a nodal point for all our design activity and would also support on back office functions including ERP applications," Mr Faizal E. Kottikollon, Chief Executive Officer, ETC, told newspersons here on Monday.

In view of the availability of talented mechanical engineering graduates here, ETC would eventually scale up its activities to offer design services to its global clientele, Initially, 30 professionals would be working at the 5,000 sq ft centre but gradually most of its 700 professionals would be moved to India, he said.

The company is also on the lookout for business partners in India.

"We have already tied up with two steel manufacturing plants in Nellore and Coimbatore with 100 per cent buyback agreements," Mr Radhakrishna Kesani, Country Manager, ETC Corporation India, said.

ETC is in the process of finalising a suitable location in the South to set up machining centre with Rs 50 crore.

"We will foray into real estate and are planning to take up a mixed-use project in a location to be announced soon," he said.

ETC India targets a turnover of over Rs 35 core in the current fiscal year.

Its group turnover stood at Rs 387 crore in the last fiscal.
