ABT extending omni bus services reach

Coimbatore April 10 ABT X Travels is extending its omni bus service reach to southern districts with the launch of to and fro service between Coimbatore and Nagercoil; Coimbatore and Tirunelveli; Pollachi and Nagercoil; and Pollachi and Tirunelveli from April 12.

This omni bus division of the ABT Group started operations in November last with the introduction of the bus service between Coimbatore and Chennai; and Pollachi and Chennai.

Within a month of introduction of this service, it added the Bangalore service.

The group plans to add 8 new air-conditioned coaches by end May. "Four of these will become operational before the end of this month and the rest by end-May," the Group's Managing Director, Mr M. Manickam, said

These buses would operate on the Chennai- Nagercoil; Chennai- Tirunelveli; Bangalore- Nagercoil; and Bangalore- Tirunelveli segments, he said.

According to Mr Manickam, the company has invested Rs 9 crore on this division.
