Madison Media bags buying account for BBC

Chennai April 11 Madison Media has won the media planning and buying account for BBC World Service Trust's campaign to prevent HIV transmission.

A press release from Madison describes the BBC World Service Trust as an organisation that uses the creative power of media to reduce poverty and promote human rights by inspiring people to build better lives.

It is implementing a mass media campaign to prevent the transmission of HIV by promoting condoms in States where HIV prevalence is high.

The account will be handled from Delhi by Madison Media Plus headed by the Chief Operating Officer, Ms Basabdatta Chowdhuri.

In another development, Mr Rajiv Gopinath, a product of IIM with 10 years' media experience, has rejoined Madison Media as Senior Vice-President in Delhi after a nine-month stint in Group M where he served as Investment Services Director, Group M - West (Mindshare, Maxus and MEC) and General Manager, Mindshare.

Mr Gopinath has joined Madison Media Infinity, Delhi, and initially his primary responsibility will be handling Madison's coveted Coca-Cola media account, a press release said.
