Mumbai April 12 Tata AIG General Insurance Company Ltd has appointed Mr Michael Carlin as its Managing Director, effective May 1. Mr Carlin was the Chief Operating Officer prior to his appointment as Managing Director.

He will succeed Mr Dalip Verma who is moving to a senior position overseas with the American International Group (AIG), said a press release.

Based in Mumbai, Mr Carlin will be responsible for managing the operations of Tata AIG General in India.

Prior to joining Tata AIG General in August 2004, Mr Carlin was the Regional Vice-President, O&S for AIG in Hong Kong. He joined AIG in 1988 and has held various senior positions in it, said the release.
