SHL sees market for psychometric tools growing

Pune April 12 The UK-based SHL, engaged in offering psychometric tools and products for clients to help them in the recruitment process, sees ample opportunity in India.

The company has on its rolls about 250 psychologists who work on different products and has about 5,500 clients. In India, it caters to about 250 clients and has a group turnover of over $150 million .

Talking to Business Line, Mr Y.V. Lakshminarayan Pandit, Managing Director, SHL (India), said the practice of using psychometric tests, which include cognitive or ability tests, personality, motivation and simulation exercise, is gaining ground among Indian corporates.

And to cater to the domestic market, SHL has come out with a product called `Person-job match'. This has been in the market for about six months and is being tested by companies in Mumbai. The product will be rolled out to other cities such as Bangalore, New Delhi and Pune, he said.

Mr Pandit said SHL would also be launching a new product `Verify' in the Indian market for unsupervised online ability testing.
