Encouraging innovation

The interview "Innovation is strongly linked to strategy and competitiveness" (Business Line, April 13) rightly points out that translation of an invention or discovery into a commercial application is an important dimension of innovation.

As suggested by Prof Rishikesha T. Krishnan, there should be an innovation policy, and better coordination and collaboration among the various wings and government.

With innovative schemes we could use technology to achieve our goals in education and healthcare faster and more effectively.

It is also worth exploring how PSU banks could serve agriculture and industry in the best manner using technology.
