Poultry Marketing - Strategy States - Tamil Nadu US layer breed relaunch in Namakkal zone Our Bureau
Coimbatore April 13 There is a flurry of activity in the layer market in Tamil Nadu's Namakkal poultry zone. A layer breed from the US, Hyline W-36, is expected to make a re-entry in Tamil Nadu's poultry belts this month. An official relaunch of the American layer breed is scheduled to take place on April 21 in Namakkal. The new licensee to market the commercial `Hyline' chicks in the Tamil Nadu market will be the Namakkal-based Ponni Breeding Farms and Hatcheries. According to Mr Singaraj, Managing Director, Ponni Breeding Farms, his company-owned breeder farms in Hosur and Namakkal would produce the commercial chicks out of Hyline parent birds to be supplied by the Hyline International's India (for grandparent birds) licensee from Hyderabad. Ponni Breeding Farms and Hatcheries is confident of making a moderate monthly placement of about two/three lakh commercial (day-old) chicks of the breed within months of re-release in the State market. The special function to market the launch in Namakkal would be attended among others by Dr John A. Greaves, President and CEO, Hyline International, US, and Mr Miguel Paula, Regional Marketing Director, Hyline International (Middle East and Indian sub-continent).
