Emirates Shipping Line launches 2 services

Our Bureau

New Delhi April 14 Emirates Shipping Line on Friday announced the launch of two new services — the Gulf Indian-subcontinent Africa Service (GIA) and the Africa Far-east Asia Service (AFA).

The new GIA service offers a direct scheduled weekly service from the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East to East Africa, providing one of the best transit times to East Africa, claimed a company release.

The port rotation of GIA is Nhava Sheva, Karachi, Jebel Ali, Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam, Mombassa and Nhava Sheva. The new AFA service connects the Orient to the two major ports in East Africa — from China and South-East Asia to East Africa.

To make these services operationally effective, six vessels of 1100 TEU nominal capacity will be deployed. The service will operate with TS Line as partners, with the latter providing one vessel, and the Emirates Shipping Line providing five.

The AFA serves Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Klang, Colombo, Dar Es Salaam and Mombasa. This service will use a combination of Emirates Shipping Line's Hyper Galex service and the AFA service over Colombo.

Emirates Shipping Line FZE is registered in Dubai Maritime City of UAE and commercially headquartered in Dubai and Hong Kong.
