Mumbai April 15 Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC) has launched a new service centre for providing auto services in malls. While shopping at the malls, two-wheeler and four-wheeler owners can get their vehicles serviced. SERVOXpress is the brand name for the centres, which will provide, among other services, battery and tyre check-up, facilities for changing engine oil, AC service, vacuum cleaning, and upholstery cleaning.
More outlets planned
Mr G.C. Daga, Marketing Director of IOC, at the launching of the first service centre, said the learning from the SERVOXpress pilot project would drive IOC plans to set up nearly 250 such outlets across the country, during the current fiscal. The centres will be set up in malls as wells as stand-alone franchisee with an investment of Rs 35 crore, he said. IOC opened the centre under a MoU with the Kishore Biyani-promoted Future Group. Mr Daga added that with the explosion in the realty sector in the country, malls have become the hubs of social life in urban India. Not only they are emerging as primary destinations for entertainment, food and shopping, but also increasingly turning into community centres, he said.
