Our Bureau

New Delhi April 16 Petronet LNG Ltd has posted 60 per cent growth in net profit and 44 per cent growth in turnover during 2006-07 over the previous year. The company has recorded profit after tax of Rs 313 crore and turnover of Rs 5,545 crore during the year. The Board, which met today, has recommended a maiden dividend of 12.5 per cent for 2006-07.

During the year, the company had processed additional 12 spot cargoes and had increased production capacity by 30 per cent over its installed capacity through de-bottlenecking and efficient utilisation of critical equipment, the company said. This would enable the company to process 1.5 MMTPA additional LNG from April 1, committed entirely for sale to the three offtakers — GAIL (India) Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd up to September 2009.
