Ahmedabad, April 19

The Mehsana District Co-operative Milk Producers' Union Ltd's Dudhsagar Dairy has bagged an Rs 5.56 crore order from the Ministry of Defence to supply Amul Mithaimate (sweetened condensed milk).

The Mehsana Union is the largest district milk co-operative union in Gujarat, while the defence forces are amongst the largest consumers of condensed milk, a press release said here today. The Dudhsagar Dairy successfully convinced the Ministry for a 40 per cent higher price compared to last year's.

Recently, the Animal Breeding Centre of Dudhsagar Research and Development Association at Jadugan has been recommended for an ISO 9001-2000 certification by the well-known Norwegian audit agency DNV, the release added.
