Industry Associations States - Andhra Pradesh CII team confers with YSR Our Bureau
Hyderabad April 19 Rural business hub, skill development initiative, HIV/AIDS sensitisation, SME cluster and a study on developing districts in Andhra Pradesh will be the focus areas for the Andhra Pradesh Chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry in the short term. Briefing the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on the new initiatives, the newly elected office-bearers of the CII said they would work in close coordination with the Government for the overall development of the State. The CII team consisted of Dr B.V.R Mohan Reddy, Deputy Chairman, CII Southern Region; Mr Pradeep Dhobale, Chairman, CII-AP; Mr Utpal Sen Gupta, Vice-Chairman, CII-AP; Ms Shobana Kamineni, Past Chairperson, CII Southern Region, among others.
DISCUSSIONS
The Chief Minister discussed a wide array of subjects such as infrastructure, agriculture, textiles, tourism, food processing etc., and felt that there should be more emphasis on development of food processing and textile industry in the State. The State Government would go all out to provide every possible assistance to the industry to make their ventures a success, a press release from CII said. Mr Dhobale said the skill development initiative of CII was a major step towards gainful employment of youth in Andhra Pradesh and requested the Chief Minister to provide impetus in propagating this initiative across the State.
