New Delhi April 19 The Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Kamal Nath, said on Thursday that developers and co-developers of special economic zones (SEZs) would be notified for benefits for duty neutralisation under the duty entitlement passbook scheme (DEPB), Duty Free Import Authorisation and Advanced Authorisation schemes.

He also said that interest would be given on delays on effecting refund of terminal excise duty, duty drawback on deemed exports and refund of central sales tax on supplies to Export Oriented Units. This would be allowed with effect from April 1, 2006.

Soon after releasing the annual supplement to the foreign trade policy, Mr Nath also said that he would have set a higher export target for 2007-08 if not for the rising rupee against the dollar.
