Hyderabad April 20 The new initiatives in the annual supplement to Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09 announced by the Centre would boost the exports significantly, according to the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI).

"The FAPCCI welcomes the expansion of Vishesh Krishi and Gram Udyog Yojana for promoting agricultural exports. This would lead to a higher growth in production and employment." Mr Sudhir Sanghi, its President, said in a release issued here on Friday.

The chamber also appreciated the extension of Duty Entitlement Passbook Scheme for another licensing period.

"We are sure that the (exports) target of $160 billion set for the current year and $200 billion set for 2008-09 will be achieved," he said.
