UCO Bank pays interim to Govt

New Delhi, April 20

UCO Bank on Friday made an interim dividend payment of Rs 59.93 crore to the Centre for the financial year 2006-07. The bank's Chairman and Managing Director, Mr V. Sridar, handed over the dividend cheque to the Union Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, here. Also present on the occasion were Dr Ashok Lahiri, the bank's director and Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India, and Mr D. Roybardhan, General Manager, UCO Bank, New Delhi region.

UCO Bank's total business for 2006-07 touched Rs 1,12,400 crore, which represents a 21.47 per cent growth over the previous year. For 2006-07, UCO Bank declared a 10 per cent interim dividend, which has now been paid to shareholders including the Union Government. Currently, the bank's paid-up capital stands at Rs 799.36 crore.
