`Priority for inflation control'

Our Bureau

New Delhi April 20 The Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, said on Friday that inflation control remains a high priority for the Government.

He expects the wholesale price index-based annual inflation to ease to 5.7 per cent for the next week (i.e. week ended April 14). "Further moderation (of inflation) depends on wheat arrivals," Mr Chidambaram told presspersons here.
