South Canara co-op bank profit

The South Canara District Central Cooperative (SCDCC) Bank Ltd recorded a profit of Rs 5.42 crore during 2006-07, according to Mr M.N. Rajendra Kumar, President of the bank. Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, he said that the bank has recorded an all-time high profit of Rs 5.42 crore during the last financial year. The bank achieved a business turnover of Rs 1,014.88 crore during the year, and the total deposits reached Rs 521.43 crore. Mr Kumar said that SCDCC Bank is planning to introduce a `mobile banking counter' in Mangalore by the end of June. With this initiative, the bank wants to take banking facilities to the doorsteps of its customers, he added.
