Insurance cover for advocates

The Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh has introduced group mediclaim policy and group personal accident policy for the advocates on its rolls. According to a press release issued here on Monday, the group mediclaim policy is available to the advocates and their family members, whereas the group personal accident policy is available only for the advocates. The mediclaim policy covers the members up to the age of 70 for a sum of Rs 1 lakh per year on payment of premium payable depending on the age. For accident policy, the advocates have to pay Rs 150 for an insured sum of Rs 50,000 per annum. The New India Assurance Company Ltd is providing the cover, the release added.
