Kolkata April 23 Bharti Airtel Ltd on Monday announced the pan-India launch of comprehensive telecom and networking solutions for small and medium businesses (SMBs). These include fixed line, mobile, broadband, long distance and data managed services. Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services will offer these services in all major SMB hubs, according to Mr Manoj Kohli, President and CEO of Bharti Airtel Ltd. Addressing a news conference here on Monday, Mr Kohli said Airtel had partnered with Nortel to bring a complete data, converged voice, mobility and security portfolio to address the specific needs of SMBs. Both the companies have decided to leverage upon the strengths of each other's marketing channels. Mr Kohli said there were an estimated seven million SMBs in India who together spend approximately $15 billion on their IT and telecom requirements. The SMB segment was growing at twice the GDP growth rate. "Three-fourths of the potential market in this regard will be accounted for by the top-seven cities," he said.
