US-India aviation forum established

The aim is to promote enhanced safety and system capacity in the aviation sector.

New Delhi April 23 The US-India Aviation Cooperation Programme), a public-private partnership between the US Trade Development Agency, the US Federal Aviation Administration and US aviation companies was established on Monday.

The programme provides a forum for unified communication between the Indian Government and US public and private sector entities in India. The programme objectives include promoting enhanced safety, operational efficiency and system capacity in the Indian aviation sector, facilitating and coordinating aviation industry training and technical ties between the US and India and to strengthen overall US-India aviation cooperation.

USTDA is to provide funding for training and technical programmes while the FAA and US aviation companies are providing in-kind support for the programme. ACP intends to focus on activities that support air traffic/air space management enhancement and the challenge of increasing traffic in India.
