Kochi April 24 One of the primary measures required for increasing the production and consumption of tender coconut water as an eco-friendly and cost-effective soft drink substitute is to dispense it in clean and hygienic conditions, the Coconut Development Board said.

As part of its diverse promotional activities to increase the consumption of tender coconut water, the Coconut Development Board has been introduced a mini-vehicle for selling tender coconut water in more hygienic conditions.

The Union Minister of State for Commerce, Mr Jairam Ramesh, gave the first of such vehicles to Ms Vimala, a street vendor.
