Markets - New Fund Offer
Franklin plans Capital Protection Fund

Our Bureau

Mumbai April 24 Franklin Templeton Investments (India) will launch capital protection oriented scheme called Franklin Templeton Capital Protection Oriented Fund. This is the second capital protection fund from Franklin Templeton.

The New Fund Offer period will open on April 24 and close on May 17. Crisil has given a rating of AAA (SO) to the fund, which indicates the highest degree of certainty regarding timely repayment of face value of units.

"The fund's hybrid structure and its ability to preserve capital are well-suited to current market conditions, where both the debt and equity markets have been displaying heightened volatility. The debt investments in this fund will be managed to reduce both credit and interest rate risk, and the portfolio will benefit from the current high yields. The exposure to equity markets will help investors take advantage of the long term growth prospects," said Mr Santosh Kamath - CIO, Fixed Income, Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund.

The minimum investment amount is Rs 10,000. The scheme has been benchmarked against the Crisil MIP Blended Index.
