KEC International Q4 net up 88%

Power infrastructure major, KEC International Ltd has registered an 88.15 per cent rise in net profit for the fourth quarter. The company clocked a net profit Rs 30.18 crore, against Rs 16.04 crore in the same year-ago quarter. Net sales, at Rs. 640.92 crore, increased by 33.97 per cent, from Rs 478.38 crore. KEC's unaudited results for fiscal 2007 showed a net profit of Rs 104.63 crore, against Rs. 49.3 crore (audited) in the previous fiscal. Mr Ramesh Chandak, Managing Director of KEC, said that during the year 2006-07, KEC's growth came from the large orders it won from Algeria, Abu Dhabi and Kazakhstan in the international market. In India, Power Grid Corporation continues to be the principal source of high value contracts, he said. Currently the company's order book is at Rs 3,000 crore, he said. The company's shares fell by 3.62 per cent on Tuesday on BSE, closing at Rs 549.50.
