Personal Products Web Extras - Financial Performance Godrej Consumer Q4 profit up 29% Our Bureau

Mumbai April 25 Godrej Consumer Products has recorded a 28.94 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 38.8 crore for the quarter ended March 31, compared to Rs 30.16 crore for the same period last year. The total income (net of excise) grew 14.36 per cent to Rs 188.45 crore (Rs 164.78 crore).For the year ended March 31, the company posted a net profit of Rs 132.16 crore as against Rs 121.20 crore for the year-ago period and the total income (net of excise) increased to Rs 763.82 crore from Rs 664.25 crore. Sale of toilet soaps grew by 18 per cent in value terms while hair colorants posted 12 per cent growth. In personal care, sales improved by 11 per cent over the previous year. Commenting on the results, Mr Adi Godrej, CMD, said, "During the year we have taken several initiatives both organic and inorganic with a view towards making our growth engine stronger and more sustainable."
GCPL shares on Wednesday fell by 13.16 per cent to close at Rs 143.80 on the BSE.
