ICICI Bank opens branch in Qatar

Mumbai, April 25

ICICI Bank has become the first Indian bank to set up a branch in Qatar with a licence from the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA). The location for the branch will be Qatar Financial Centre in Doha. Ms Meenal Mahajan has been appointed the Resident Manager in-charge of the branch, says a bank press release.

The bank's international presence currently spans 17 countries and includes wholly owned subsidiaries in the UK, Canada and Russia; offshore banking units in Singapore and Bahrain; a branch in Dubai and now also in Qatar, branches in Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Belgium; and representative offices in the US, China, the UAE, Bangladesh, South Africa, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.
