Building a 1-lakh sq ft studio at ITPL, Whitefield

Bangalore April 26 Paprikaas Interactive Services (P) Ltd, a 3D animation and video games services company, on Wednesday announced that it would be doubling headcount from 170 to 340 in the next six months to cater to the growing demand for its products. The company is building a 1-lakh sq ft studio at ITPL, Whitefield, for its expansion.

Technicolor, a Thomson group company, made a strategic investment in Paprikaas early this year to propel its creative, technical and computer animation capabilities to the global stage in the rapidly expanding Indian digital animation and content services industry.

Thomson's Technicolor Content Services is a leading provider of content preproduction, production, postproduction, and distribution capabilities to the broadcast, cable, feature film, advertising, and ancillary home video and DVD markets.

The division provides visual effects, animation, and video game content creation and development services for leading studios and video game publishers.

Focus on 3D

Paprikaas is a premier computer animation studio offering creative, technical and production capabilities to design and produce computer animation for feature films, television programming, commercials, and video games, with a strong focus on digital 3D content.

"Our investment in Paprikaas represents Technicolor's commitment to growing our animation activities to provide high quality animation for feature films, TV programming, commercials and games," said Mr Ahmad Ouri, President of Technicolor Content Services.

"Our synergies will provide a perfect balance between the front-office competencies of Technicolor through their global network in the market place and high-quality, cost-efficient back-office resources of Paprikaas," said Mr Nandish Domlur, Founder and CEO of Paprikaas.
