Hyderabad April 26 The Confederation of Indian Farmers' Associations (CIFA) and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages have joined hands to organise the 2007 edition of AP ThumsUp Rural Games this summer. Announcing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr P. Chengal Reddy, Secretary-General of CIFA, said competitions would be held in kabaddi and 50-kg sack carrying relay for men and relay running and rangoli for women. In Andhra Pradesh, the 2007 edition would be kicked off on April 28 at Lal Bahadur Stadium. In order to make it accessible for all farmers, games would be held in 20 different towns. During the month-long fete, Government departments such as agriculture and rural development would set up stalls, throwing light on various schemes. The schedules for Karnataka and Maharashtra would be announced later, Mr Deepak Kaul, Regional Vice-President of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Ltd, said. Answering a question, he said in the next few years the company would make it a pan-Indian event.
