Mediaedge:cia bags CavinKare account

R. Ravikumar

Chennai April 26 CavinKare has hired the services of Mediaedge:cia, a media planning and buying agency.

Until now, the Rs 500-crore FMCG major's media duties were handled by its in-house agency Hemalata Enterprises.

"As our account size is growing by the passing day, planning efficiency has become very critical in the fast fragmenting media market. Our in-house agency is not well equipped with necessary global tools. So, we thought it would be prudent to outsource these services," said Mr Ramesh Viswanathan, Vice-President (Marketing), CavinKare.

According to Mr Viswanathan, the company has earmarked an ad spend of Rs 30 crore for the electronic medium and a little over Rs 5 crore for the print and outdoor media.

Declining to divulge the names of the agencies that pitched in for the account, he said there were four agencies, including Mediaedge:cia, in the fray.

Mediaedge:cia is a founding partner of GroupM, WPP's media investment management group.
