Suven net up 24% in Q4

Hyderabad-based Suven Life Sciences posted a 24-per-cent increase in net profit at Rs 2.81crore in the fourth quarter of last fiscal ended March 2007 as against Rs 2.26 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

According to a release issued here on Thursday, during the quarter, revenues surged 47 per cent to Rs 28.73 crore (Rs 19.56 crore). In 2006-07, the firm's profit after tax (PAT) grew 33 per cent to Rs 11.22 crore (Rs 8.46 crore). Revenues increased 38 per cent to Rs 114.58 crore (Rs 83 crore). Exports too climbed 38 per cent to Rs 87.87 crore (Rs 63.69 crore). During the period under review, the company continued to focus on drug discovery and had spent about 24 per cent of its revenue on R&D, the release added.
