Research & Development 2 Lupin projects selected for funding Our Bureau
Mumbai April 27 The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has selected two clinical development programmes of Lupin for funding in the migraine and psoriasis segments, a Lupin release said. The DST has committed over Rs 10 crore to support Lupin's projects, which are expected to be completed in two years, it added. The migraine project involves conducting Phase 3 clinical trials of Lupin's LL-2011 for prophylactic treatment of migraine. Phase III trials involve testing the prospective drug on a section of patients to test for efficacy, safety and adverse reactions. In the skin-related psoriasis segment, the collaboration will support extended Phase I and Phase II trials of LL-4218, a pure compound derived from a herbal source for treatment of chronic stable plaque type of psoriasis. The Phase I trial involves testing the prospective medicine on a section of human volunteers to check for safety.
