Kolkata April 29 West Bengal is gradually emerging as a favourite investment destination for automobile companies. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has tied up with a local company for setting up an automobile manufacturing facility at Haldia, according to the West Bengal Chief Minister, Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.

Mr Bhattacharjee was talking to presspersonss on the sidelines of a function held here to formally launch the first two-wheeler manufactured in West Bengal by the Xenitis Group at its manufacturing facility in Hooghly district.

The Chief Minister said Ashok Leyland had also evinced interest in setting up a heavy vehicles manufacturing facility, also in Haldia. Talks in this regard were underway with the State government, he said.
