Spencer's Hyper store at Durgapur

Kolkata April 29 The first Spencer's Hyper store in West Bengal opened in Durgapur.

It was inaugurated by Dr R.P. Goenka, Chairman Emeritus of the Rs 11,000-crore RPG Group. This is the ninth Spencer's Hyper store in India. With this, Spencer's has a total of 135 outlets in 27 cities across the country. These include five Spencer's Superstores, 104 Daily stores, two Fresh stores and 15 Express stores. As part of its national rollout plan, Spencer's plans to set up a total of 2,000 stores by 2009 and 4,000 stores by 2011, according to a press release issued here.

The release states that the Spencer's Hyper store in Durgapur is located at the City Centre and is spread across 16,000 sq.ft. of space. About 20,000 products are on offer across groceries, fresh fruits, vegetables, home appliances and white goods, all under one roof.
