Improved supply

UNIT VALUE DIPS: Cashew apple and cashew nut at a farm near Kallar in Kerala's Idukki district. Improved supply of cashew has lowered its export and import unit value realisation.

Total exports during 2006-07 fiscal stood at 1,18,540 tonnes valued at Rs 2,455 crore against 1,14,143 tonnes worth Rs 2,515 crore in the previous fiscal. Total imports of raw cashew nuts increased to 5,92,600 tonnes valued at Rs 1,812 crore against 5,65,400 tonnes worth Rs 2,163 crore in 2005-06.
