Power 75% rise in Areva T&D net profit Our Bureau
New Delhi April 30 Electrical equipment manufacturer Areva T&D India has announced a 75 per cent increase in its net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 at Rs 35 crore, as against Rs 20 crore in the corresponding period a year ago. The company on Monday said it would invest Rs 400 crore in next three years for expanding its manufacturing capacity. Areva T&D planned to set up a transformer factory at Vadodara in Gujarat that would entail investments of Rs 200 crore, a company release said. The factory would commence production in December 2008, it said, adding the company is also planning to expand its Bangalore instrument transformers unit. "Our ongoing focus to improve operational efficiency, enhance capacities in addition to the continued technological support from our parent company, AREVA, were instrumental in achieving outstanding performance during the quarter," Areva T&D India Managing Director Mr Rathin Basu said.
