Sintex Industries reported a 30.97 per cent increase in profit after tax at Rs 53.69 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 compared to Rs 40.83 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Net sales rose 14.73 per cent to Rs 364.88 crore (Rs 318.04 crore). For the year, net sales rose 30.97 per cent to Rs 1,117.76 crore (Rs 853.42 crore) and net profit registered a growth of 41.90 per cent at Rs 130.58 crore (Rs 92.02 crore). Sintex Industries has two divisions, namely, plastics and textiles. For the quarter, the textiles division recorded a growth of 26.25 per cent, while the plastics division grew by 16.97 per cent. Shares of the company rose 1.52 per cent to close at Rs 203.50 on BSE.
